He has been involved in the insurance market for nearly 30 years. During this time, he went through all levels of the industry career – from an insurance agent, through a head of sales departments, to the position of the Management Board President.
He has extensive experience in managing life and non-life insurance companies, insurance intermediary companies and brokerage companies.
From 2007 to 2010, he served as President of the Management Board of Generali Group companies in Poland, and from 2010 to 2017, he headed the Management Board of Uniqa.
He graduated from the University of Economics in Katowice and the University of Bochum. He is also a graduate of the Eurekans Management Development Program, delivered by the University of Edinburgh, the University of Chicago in Barcelona and INSEAD France.
Professor, Director of the Institute of Risk and Financial Markets at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and Head of the Department of Risk and Insurance in this institute. A graduate of the Lublin University of Technology, the University of Central Lancashire and Cambridge University, Judge Business School.
In 2001, he obtained a doctoral degree in economics in the Warsaw School of Economics. Since 2001, he has been associated with business practice. One of the most important business projects was the establishment of the Postal Mutual Insurance Company. In the years 2002–2011, he cooperated with this entity. From 2007 to 2009, he worked for a London-based investment firm, where he held the position of Non-Executive Director. In 2015, he co-founded the Medicum Mutual Insurance Company, where he took the position of the President of Management Board. In 2013, he obtained a degree Habilitated Doctor of Economic Sciences in Finance. In 2017, he was appointed Chairman of the Commission for Actuarial Examinations. He held this position for 5 years. Currently, he is an independent member of the supervisory boards of companies from the Allianz Group in Poland.
By the order of the President of the Republic of Poland of 15 December 2021, he was awarded the title of professor of social sciences.
